The Caldwell's first started building the nursery back in in the late 1960's. 'The site of our nursery had been used for agricultural production.' explains Chuck Caldwell as he tours visitors around the nursery and gardens. 'Through the years we've planted trees, shrubs, added water features, built our home here, added work buildings and raised a family.'
Chuck manages the nursery, greenhouses, and the nursery's commercial landscaping business. Cay Dee runs the retail side of the business, helping customers select just the right plants for their gardens. Expect the unusual here! Cay Dee is known for her great selection of rare and unusual tropical and hardy plants she always keeps in stock. If you are looking for rare and hard to find plants, just ask Cay Dee and chances are she already has it or can find it for you.
The Caldwell's have planted many varieties of flowering plants, palms, bamboos, cacti and succulents, and interesting plants from around the world throughout their property. Visitors come out to the nursery not only to buy plants but to walk the nature trails and enjoy the wildlife and seasonal changes in the gardens.

As you are driving south on Hwy 36 you will make a right turn at the first traffic light.
This is Band Road and you will notice our sign on the SW corner of the intersection.
Turn here and drive one mile. We are on the right just after the 'S' curve.

At the entrance to the nursery we recently planted an Oldhamii bamboo and a Silver Bismarckia nobilis palm.

Throughout the year, the many flower beds are planted with colorful and unusual plants. This is the Front Entry Patio Area in the Spring of 2005

Some plants and critters around the nursery.

The history of this area of Texas and its residents is rooted in the land. You will see examples of old farm machinery around the nursery, some still in use daily, some they keep just because they like looking at them.
