Multiplex is the hardiest of the Bambusa. Each node bears a large number of branches down to the culm base, making a dense hedge. A dwarf form with culms that tend to be yellowish, especially when exposed to the sun. Multiplex is the most common bamboo used for a hedge on the Gulf Coast. This plant has a more weeping, "bushy" look as compared to some of the other multiplex. Great for a hedge effect when overhead room is a problem (think power lines).
